As we reflect on SDRE’s roots, we see a journey of discovery and dedication. Our mission to create vibrant and innovative housing in San Diego has driven us from a small team in 2021 to current leaders in homebuilding. As we continue to address the housing shortage through our ever-improving processes, we remain committed to building in places our community can call home. Through these efforts, we couldn’t be more excited for the future.

2019

SDRE’s founder, Christian Spicer, established his roots in property management with Source Group Realty. There, he recognized San Diego’s critical housing crisis.

Source Group has 4 employees.

2021

SDRE was then founded to address the need for more housing. They grew quickly, realizing the need to scale the business with a design and engineering and contracting firm.

SDRE started with 3 employees and now has 23 employees.

2022

PRO-CAL Design & Engineering was founded. They are now a leading architectural and engineering firm that has designed, engineered and permitted over 1,300 units in Southern California.

PRO-CAL has 11 employees.

2023

Vertical Movement was founded. Vertical Movement is a Class A and Class B contractor that specializes in homebuilding. They have since built 144 homes in partnership with SDRE.

Vertical Movement has  16 employees.

Today

Now, our organizations have grown collectively to 50+ employees. We are continuing to expand our departments and invest in new technologies to better the housing market.

Established in 2021, our journey began with a small team committed to making an impact.

We started with a shared vision to make a meaningful impact on San Diego's real estate market, though our path was not yet clear.

We experienced explosive growth as our team found a niche where we could make a difference.

Through dedication and innovation, we found our footing and quickly became a key player in addressing the local housing shortage.

We’ve since hit our stride and perfected our process, integrating all aspects of homebuilding.

Today, we are leaders in real estate development, consistently delivering high-quality housing solutions that enhance our community.
